One of my favorite Thanksgiving Day activities is one that I remember creating when I was in elementary school. If you live in an area with tons of fall leaves, this art project is perfect for you! It is called the Fall Leaf Turkey.
What you will need:
*leaves
*a piece of construction paper
*a pinecone
*eyes (wiggly or paper)
*glue
*scissors
What you do:
Once you gather your fall leaves, arrange them on a piece of paper in a fan-like fashion. Once you get them into the position you want, then glue the leaves to your paper. After you glue the leaves, take your pinecone and glue it to the bottom of the fan. The pinecone serves as your turkey’s head. The next step is to create eyes from either a scrap piece of paper, using markers to fill in the eyeballs or use a pair of wiggly eyes. Glue them on to the pinecone. Using the construction paper, create an orange beak and a red wobbler for your turkey. Once complete, glue those onto your pinecone. Then you are ready to hang up your project to dry!

The next project option is another one of my favorite activities that your child will take great pride in! It is a Thanksgiving votive candleholder!
Check out some fun Thanksgiving wallpapers here!
What you will need:
* Baby food jar
* Thanksgiving or Fall stickers
* White glue, like Elmer’s
* Paintbrush
* Glitter
* Ribbon
* votive candle
*small newspaper to keep your craft area clean
Here’s what you do:
Take your clean empty baby food jar and apply the Thanksgiving and/or Fall stickers completely around the jar. Then take your paintbrush to completely cover your jar sides from right below the jar threads to the bottom of the sides of the jar with glue. After complete, sprinkle glitter on the glue and let the jar dry. Next up you need to tie your ribbon around the top of the jar. Now you are ready to put in your votive candle and show off your creation during your holiday feast!
